Don't Vote for 12 Defectors From Congress, Revanth Urges Voters
Hyderabad: TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy on Friday challenged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s claim that BRS (then TRS) ministers and MLAs had sacrificed their seats for statehood, and said that they had regrouped and won the same seats in the byelections and had proceeded to loot the state.
In contrast, Revanth Reddy said Congress leaders like Komatireddy Venkat Reddy gave up their ministerial positions during the statehood movement and had never hankered after office.
He was speaking at Vijayabheri meetings held at Nakrekal, Thungathurthi, and Alair on Friday.
He said that the people of Nalgonda led the armed struggle against the Nizam’s rule.
The TPCC chief then took on the 12 Congress legislators who had defected to the BRS and asked the people “not to allow them (defectors) to touch the Assembly gates. He said that the people’s judgment should be a lesson to those who change parties.
He said that Chirumurthy Lingaiah had won with the efforts of Congress workers but had defected to the BRS and became like a slave in Chandrashekar Rao’s home.
On the issue of corruption, Revanth Reddy said that the Medigadda barrage of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project was built on sand, spending Rs 1.5 lakh crore.
He said that if the Srisailam Left Bank Canal tunnel had been dug for 10 km more, the Nalgonda district would have become greener. But the BRS government has not done that work in these 10 years. He said that more injustice was done to Telangana under Rao’s rule than when Telangana was part of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
He said that if the 16 Chief Ministers of undivided AP had borrowed Rs 60 crore, Rao had borrowed Rs 6 lakh crore in 10 years. “KTR says that KCR is like a Rs 100 note. KCR is like a fake note,” Revanth Reddy said.
He said that no job vacancy has been filled in Telangana for ten years, and Chandrashekar Rao does not care about two lakh job vacancies. He said that the students and the unemployed youth should stand by Congress. He said that the responsibility of removing Rao from his job and bringing about Indiramma Rajyam was with the youth.
