ECI Notice to KTR for T-Hub Meet
HYDERABAD: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday issued a notice to BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao, directing him to provide an explanation for conducting a meeting at T-works, a government premises. on November 26.
ECI principal secretary Avinash Kumar set a deadline of 3 pm for the submission of the explanation, cautioning that failure to comply would result in appropriate action.
The notice followed a complaint by Randeep Singh Surjewala, Congress MP, on November 21 alleging that Rama Rao, in violation of the model code of conduct (MCC), had organised a meeting at a government premises with youngsters and made promises regarding job opportunities.
The Rangareddy district election officer submitted a report that a meeting was conducted at T works, Raidurgam by a unit of Colosseum CQ Solutions Pvt Ltd, represented by Charan on November 20 between 11.30 am and 1 pm. Rama Rao attended the meeting. The video surveillance team covered the meeting and submitted a report.
Meanwhile the total seizure of money, valuables, liquor, narcotics and freebies neared the Rs 700 crore mark, standing at Rs 698 crore on Saturday.
This included Rs 277 crore cash, Rs 113 crore liquor, Rs 37.87 crore worth drugs, Rs 186 crore valuables and freebies worth Rs 82 crore.
