Congress Fighting BRS to Dislodge KCR's Friend Modi, Says Rahul

ADILABAD: AICC former president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday alleged that the BRS, the BJP and the MIM had colluded against the Congress for the Assembly elections, saying “Modiji Ke Do Yaar… Owaisi Aur KCR.”

He said that it was the Congress that had developed the IT sector in Hyderabad and the international airport at Shamshabad, and stood with the people of Telangana, respecting their aspirations, when they were agitating for statehood.

The Congress former president was addressing election meetings in Bodhan, Adilabad and Vemulawada in support of party candidates.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had wanted Rao to continue to be CM in Telangana while Rao wanted Modi as Prime Minister at the Centre and both helping each other.

“The Congress is fighting with the BRS in Telangana to dislodge KCR’s friend Narendra Modi from power at the Centre,” said Rahul Gandhi and added that the BJP and the MIM were supporting the BRS secretly.

“Why did the BJP not take action against KCR and his family on corruption charges in Kaleshwaram and welfare schemes,” the Congress leader said and alleged that Rao had retained profitable ministries within the family.

Gandhi said that he had visited the Medigadda barrage where its pillars had sunk and developed cracks and said it was the best example of the BRS government’s mismanagement and corruption.

He also alleged that the BRS government had diverted funds from SC and ST sub-plans. He alleged that MLAs took Rs 3 lakh commission from each beneficiary under Dalit Bandhu.

He claimed that 8,000 farmers had committed suicides under the BRS rule. There would be no farmer suicides in a Congress government, and measures will be taken to boost the morale of the farmers. “The dream of Prajala Telangana will start by putting an end to Dorala Telangana,” he said.

He to give 24-hour free power to agriculture and said this was a scheme first implemented by the Congress.

Gandhi said the party’s Six Guarantees are not just promises given to the public and added that a Congress Chief Minister would make convert the promises into Acts.

Former minister Madava Venkateshwar Rao, senior leader Narsa Reddy and Kishan Rao joined the Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi at Bodhan.
