HYDERABAD: Former PCC president V. Hanumantha Rao met Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc) president Dr G. Sanjeeva Reddy at his residence in Barkatpura here on Sunday. This comes a day after the All India Congress Committee (AICC) recognised the Intuc led by Dr Sanjeeva Reddy as their official frontal organisation.
Speaking on the occasion, Hanumantha Rao said that Dr Sanjeeva Reddy was the only trade union leader in India who was well-versed with international labour laws and had even participated in International Labour Organisation (ILO) meetings.
The Congress high command believes in the leadership of Dr Sanjeeva Reddy, he said.
Dr Sanjeeva Reddy encouraged various sections to play an active role in labour union activities in the country, especially in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh state, he said. Meanwhile, office-bearers from several labour unions and others met Dr Sanjeeva Reddy and congratulated him.
