BRS leaders afraid of BJP’s rising strength in state: Bandi
Hyderabad: BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday said that BRS leaders were in jitters seeing the huge response to the street corner meetings of BJP. This is compelling them to attack BJP activists merely to show their existence, he said.
He was taking stock of the street corner meetings here with party district presidents and in-charges, including street corner meetings in-charge Kasam Venkateshwarlu, national executive committee member Garikapati Mohan Rao and state secretary Kolli Madhavi.
He said that BJP has completed its first phase of election campaign with the successful conduct of street corner meetings. Undeterred by BRS-led attacks, the party activists should reach people and expose the failures of the BRS government, he said.
Venkateshwarlu said that around 8,000 street corner meetings were conducted so far, including 80 percent of scheduled meetings in Gajwel, Siddipet and Sircilla Assembly constituencies represented by K. Chandrasekhar Rao, T. Harish Rao and K.T. Rama Rao, respectively. Civic issues came to fore during the meetings, he said.
Later addressing the OBC Morcha meeting, Sanjay called upon OBC leaders to reach every community and explain the misdeeds of the BRS government. The Chief Minister is trying to cheat all caste organizations ahead of Assembly elections, he cautioned them.
Meanwhile, Lingayat community elders met National OBC commission chairman Hansraj Gangaram Ahir and urged him to include them in the OBC list of the central government. Hansraj gave a positive response.
