DMK threatening Vaiko: Premalatha
Tirunelveli: Premalatha accused the DMK of trying to intimidate 'brother' Vaiko by threatening to file defamation case. She said the statement of Vaiko on the allegation that the DMK offered Rs 800 crore and 80 seats to DMDK does not attract defamation as he only quoted it from a newspaper.
“If the DMK is to file a false case against brother Vaiko he has got the guts to face it legally with our support”, thundered Premalatha. She said “some leaders” were trying to create a split in the DMDK-PWF alliance. “Their dreams will not come true”, she asserted. Significantly, she also told the large cheering audience that Vijayakanth had himself given a 'hint' about joining hands with the PWA even during the DMDK conference at Kancheepuram last month — which in effect would mean that he was not negotiating any 'deal' for alliance with either the DMK or the BJP.
DMK leader M.K.Stalin and BJP senior L Ganesan too dubbed Vaiko’s charge as 'total lie'. “How can Vaiko’s charge be true when there had not been any talks between the DMK and the DMDK and even Vijayakanth’s wife Premalatha had confirmed there were indeed no talks between the two parties?” Stalin retorted. “Vaiko has uttered a baseless charge, a lie. Our party made no such offers to Vijayakanth for his alliance”, Ganesan told this paper.
