Bandi Sanjay heads to Karnataka for campaigning

HYDERABAD: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, will starting Thursday, add some election campaign muscle for his party in Karnataka which goes to polls on May 10.

Other BJP leaders from Telangana including senior leader and Rajya Sabha member Dr K. Laxman, and party national vice-president D.K. Aruna, have already made campaign visits to Karnataka.

Sanjay will be campaigning in Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts which have significant Telugu-speaking voters. He will be in Karnataka for three days.

The party hopes that its leaders from Telangana can appeal better to the Telugu-speaking voters in Karnataka, particularly in Bengaluru, Raichur, Chitradurga, Yadgir, Bidar, and Kalaburgi districts. The BJP is keen on retaining power in Karnataka and party leaders believe that the outcome there could have an impact on the BJP’s prospects in Telangana which goes to polls later this year.
