Kishan promises Central support for developmental schemes in AP

TIRUPATI: Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy said on Tuesday that the central government has been investing heavily to create an excellent logistic infrastructure for the country.

The minister said he was amazed to see Sri City, an excellently planned industrial hub equipped with good infrastructure and investor- friendly ambience here.

At Sri City, the minister interacted with CEOs of major industrial units. “Sri City has emerged as one of the top ten investment destinations in the country. It represents the New India that offers reliable services and is backed by sound policies that are aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business,” he stated.

Praising Sri City for its role in creating job opportunities, Kishan Reddy said, “Sri City being the home for manufacturing industries in various sectors, building metro coaches, vehicles, engineering equipment as also those linked to FMCG, food processing, electronics, formulations etc. It has created large-scale employment in the backward region by turning the barren land into a vibrant economic hub.”

“It is very heartening to note that 50 per cent of the workforce here is women. With its unique features, Sri City will certainly become a ‘case study’ at the global level, and its implementation model is worthy of being emulated elsewhere.
