Karimnagar: Elected MP, Bandi Sanjay Kumar quits as corporator
Karimnagar: Bandi Sanjay Kumar of the BJP, who won the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat, resigned from his corporator’s post on Saturday. As Mr Sanjay Kumar was in Delhi to attend the party meet organised with the newly-elected MPs; BJP district unit vice-president Kotte Murali Krishna submitted the resignation letter on his behalf to the city municipal commissioner Mr Bhadraiah.
Mr Sanjay Kumar had been elected corporator from the 48th division twice since 2005. He had contested Assembly elections from Karimnagar in 2014 and in 2018 but lost to the TRS candidate, Gangula Kamalakar.
In the 2019 LS elections, Mr Sanjay Kumar registered a thumping victory with 89,508 votes, the highest amongst all the four BJP candidates. BJYM leader Raparthi Prasad accompanied Mr Murali Krishna to submit Mr Sanjay Kumar’s resignation letter.
