Minister invites Amaravati farmers for CM's house site meet

VIJAYAWADA: Housing minister Jogi Ramesh declared that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is creating a new history in Amaravati by providing house sites to all sections of society, especially the SC, ST, BC and minorities so that they could live in this capital city.

He criticised Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu for opposing the house site distribution to the poor in Amaravati. He appealed to Amaravati farmers, including women, not to fall into the trap of Chandrababu and support Jagan Mohan Reddy by attending Friday’s house sites’ distribution programme.

Ramesh alleged that Naidu and his coterie had spent crores in going to district courts, high court and finally the Supreme Court to prevent the distribution of house sites to the poor in Amaravati on the pretext that it will create a social imbalance in the city. “Does that not amount to social untouchability in Amaravati's capital,” he asked.

The minister said the distribution of house sites to 51,000 poor people is a great event in Amaravati. “We invite everyone, including Amaravati farmers, to this prestigious event. Chandrababu is provoking some women in Amaravati against participating in the programme by distorting the Supreme Court verdict. People should see through this and attend the programme in large numbers,” he underlined.
