BJP growing fast in Telugu states, claims GVL
Visakhapatnam: BJP Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha has said the BJP is making serious efforts to emerge as a formidable force in the Telugu- speaking states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, he said the BJP hoped to win a sizable number of parliament seats from AP in the 2024 elections. In Andhra Pradesh alone, the party would win more than 20 out of the 25 seats, he hoped.
Top leaders like Amit Shah and JP Nadda have been visiting Telangana and AP, addressing public meetings in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and other places. State leaders are having meetings with people at the booth-level to strengthen the party.
The MP said local leaders got guidelines from the headquarters to continue the BJP-JS alliance but no direction came about alliances with other parties. He said the BJP would felicitate all the surviving leaders who were jailed during the Emergency period in AP.
