An alliance with Chandrababu is like holding on to a transformer': AP Deputy CM
VIJAYAWADA: Deputy chief minister Kottu Satyanarayana said here on Tuesday that those planning alliances with TD should know Chandrababu is like a ‘transformer’ that could explode any time.
The opposition parties are engaged in alliance talks and conspiracies for the next year’s assembly elections but this posed no serious threat to the YSRC, he told the media.
Satyanarayana said the graph of the Jana Sena was falling by the day and hence its leader Pawan Kalyan started spreading lies against the government. “YSRC MP (Rajya Sabha) Subhash Bose is a committed leader. Disputes in the YSRC are all creations of the pro-TD media,” he said.
The deputy CM, who handles the Endowments department, said the classification of temples will be undertaken soon with the aim of providing facilities to the devotees in proportion to the income of the shrines.
“So far, the temples were divided into three categories based on their income. Temples with an income of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 50 lakh were under the supervision of an assistant commissioner, temples with an income of more than Rs 50 lakh and less than Rs 1 crore were under the supervision of a deputy commissioner and temples with an income of more than Rs 1 crore were handled by a joint commissioner,” he said.
But, steps are now being taken to raise the income limit of those three categories, he said.
The income limit for temples under assistant commissioner would from now on be between Rs 2 crore to Rs 7 crore, temples under deputy commissioner would be those with an income limit above Rs 7 crore to Rs 12 crore and temples with an income above Rs 12 crore would be under the joint commissioner.
He said that in the background of this, assistant commissioner posts will increase to five, deputy commissioner posts to 15, and the post of regional joint commissioner would reduce by one. “There is no need to sanction additional posts. We would try to make adjustments with the current sanctioned cadre strength,” he said.
Previously there were grade 1, 2 & 3 temples, as per the orders of the high court, but the executive officers are being withdrawn from the temples with an income of less than Rs 5 lakh.
