AP: Grand welcome for CWC member Raghuveera Reddy on state border
Anantapur: Newly selected Congress Working Committee member N. Raghuveera Reddy has said he would strive hard to strengthen the party at all levels.
Raghuveera Reddy, a former APCC president and ex-minister, got a grand welcome from Congress cadres at Kodikonda check post on the Karnataka borders on Friday. This was when he returned from Delhi to his native village Neelakantapuram in Madakasira mandal in Satyasai district.
Raghuveera Reddy, confined to agriculture and spiritual activities for the past four years, was in election in-charge of the Congress in Bangalore city during the recent assembly polls. He had campaigned for the party candidates in the border area assembly segments in the district.
A big convoy of vehicles greeted Raghuveera Reddy on the state borders. He offered puja at the historic Lepakshi temple while proceeding to Madakasira. Later, he offered floral tributes at the Rajiv Gandhi statue in Madakasira town.
“I had never expected such a huge recognition from the high command. In fact, I was in a mood to be free from politics. The Congress gave many opportunities to me in the state. I will work to strengthen the party at all levels including in AP,” he said.
