TRS second rung leaders unhappy over no nominated posts
KHAMMAM: Second rung leaders of Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Khammam district are not happy over the delay in state government announcing nominated posts.
These leaders say Khammam district is the most neglected when it comes to allotment of nominated posts of different corporations and other bodies in the state to leaders of Khammam. Only one of them, former MLA Kondabala Koteswara Rao, has been nominated as chairman of TS Seeds Development Corporation.
Earlier, Pidamarthi Ravi had worked as Telangana SC Cooperative Development Corporation chief. But no extension was given to him after his term ended.
There are more than half-a-dozen aspirants from the district for posts. TRS corporator Kamarthapu Murali, TRS district former convener K. Krishna, D. Subba Rao, U.V. Ramana, T. Sathish, P. Narender and L. Sathish have been seeking such posts for long. Murali had worked as Khammam town TRS president and as party corporator from 24th division.
Krishna had contested as TRS candidate from Khammam assembly constituency in 2014 elections. He got defeated by Congress candidate Puvvada Ajay Kumar, who subsequently joined the ruling party and became transport minister. People recall that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao used to spend time in Krishna's house when he came to Khammam. Even he is waiting for a state-level nominated post for his services to the party.
There are many leaders aspiring to become SUDA (Stambhadri Urban Development Authority) chairperson. SUDA covers 535 square kilometres of area and has within its ambit 16 mandals as well as urban colonies spread around Khammam.
B. Vijay Kumar is the present chairman of SUDA. Followers of the transport minister are trying to get the post after the term of Vijay expires.
