I.N.D.I.A. backed women bill reluctantly: Modi
BHOPAL/JAIPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticised the Congress during BJP rallies in Bhopal and Jaipur, characterising the party as being under the influence of "Urban Naxals."
Modi also suggested that the Congress supported the bill to avoid backlash from "Nari Shakti" (women power).
He cautioned women against being misled by Congress's "false propaganda" on the bill.
He also blamed the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan for wasting five important years of the state's youth, stating that the Congress deserved zero marks for the government it ran in Rajasthan for the last five years. The “Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha” marked the culmination of four 'Parivartan Yatras' that the BJP organised in the poll-bound state.
In his address, Modi asserted that the Congress had transformed into a private entity, with its operations outsourced to Urban Naxals across various domains, from slogan creation to policy formulation.
He noted, "The Congress has awarded the contract for running it to the Urban Naxals. Congress leaders with grassroots level links have been marginalised in the party and forced to keep quiet."
Describing the Congress as "rusted iron that corrodes easily in the rains," he claimed the party lacked the ability to comprehend or serve national interests. He also accused the Congress of nurturing corruption in the country and excessively venerating a single family.
Modi said that some Congress leaders were born into privilege and appeared indifferent to the struggles of the poor. He quipped, "For them (Congress leaders), the poor's life is adventure tourism. The farmlands of the poor have become the location of their video shooting," indirectly referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
While Modi highlighted his government's efforts to uplift the poor, he criticised the Congress for allegedly demeaning them on the international stage.
He lamented the Congress's reluctance to embrace change and its opposition to positive developments in the country, citing their criticism of the G20 summit's success.
Further, Modi criticised the Congress for its stance on Droupadi Murmu's bid to become the President of India, accusing them of attempting to hinder her progress.
Regarding his government's accomplishments, Modi highlighted developments in road and rail networks, as well as providing essential amenities like toilets and clean drinking water to rural and urban poor communities.
He questioned why the Congress, despite its significant post-independence rule, failed to deliver basic amenities and infrastructure across the country, particularly citing the example of Madhya Pradesh's misrule during their tenure, which earned the state the label of a "Bimaru" state.
In contrast, he praised the BJP's two-decade rule in the state for ushering in development, especially visible to first-time voters who hadn't experienced Congress's governance. He urged the youth to vote for the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections to maintain the state's development momentum.
