PM Modi Hails BJP Ideologue as Inspiration For Women's Bill

Hailing the passage of the women’s reservation bill during the recent special session of Parliament in its new building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the passage of the bill was not only the victory of democracy but also of the BJP’s ideology inspired by its ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s principle of “Ekatm Manavaad” (integral humanism). Inaugurating the 72-foot-tall mixed alloy statue of Upadhyaya near the BJP headquarters on the ideologue’s birth anniversary, Mr Modi said that without the rightful participation of women in politics, no nation can achieve democratic integration and the legislation on women’s reservation was an extension of integral humanism. Mr Modi also said the BJP and the Central government follows “true secularism” of benefits to each and every one without any discrimination as it follows Upadhyaya’s of Antodaya, which is also the guiding light of the Modi government’s motto of “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas”.

“The recently passed Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (women’s reservation legislation) embodies Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s principle of integral humanism… Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s principles and ideals are a beacon of inspiration for countless people… The life of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya inspires us all. His message of serving the poor and marginalised with utmost compassion is our guiding force,” said Mr Modi. BJP president J.P. Nadda, defence minister Rajnath Singh, members of Parliament from Delhi, senior BJP leaders from the party’s Delhi unit along with party workers attended the event near the party HQ.

“I am honored to inaugurate his statue at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Park in Delhi, and it is truly remarkable that we are witnessing this wonderful and happy coincidence moment. On one side, we have Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Park, and right across stands the headquarters of the BJP. Today, the BJP has grown into a formidable banyan tree, all thanks to the seeds he sowed,” said Mr Modi.

Urging BJP leaders and workers to incorporate Upadhyaya's seven principles in their lives, Mr Modi stressed that when someone is aiming high, then the success achieved after taking everyone along is a much bigger achievement than personal success.

Citing examples of the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 and the successful completion of the G-20 summit, Mr Modi said while an ordinary Indian citizen was congratulated for India’s moon mission success, the G-20 summit had also added laurels for Indians.

“And to achieve this position, India did not have to change its identity and its values. Rather, we presented Indian culture to the world with full pride. This is the dream of Deendayal ji, which we are fulfilling today,” said Mr Modi, who reached the party headquarters after attending party events in two states earlier in the day and also paid floral tributes to Upadhyaya's birthplace in Rajasthan.
