Hyderabad: Officials of the Hyderabad District Election Authority have set up 15 distribution, reception and counting centres (DRCs) in various parts of the city, including LB Stadium, Basheerbagh and Domalguda.
All poll-related materials, including electronic voting machines (EVMs), voter-verified paper audit trails (VVPATs) will be distributed to the officials at the DRCs.
The local poll body has procured 8,304 ballot units (BUs) and 6,590 control units (CUs) — the main components of the EVMs, as well as 6,409 VVPATs.
As a part of election preparedness, the GHMC’s Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management (EV&DM) director N. Prakash Reddy, along with police officials, held a training programme for flying squads and static surveillance teams on Thursday. “Nine flying squad teams have been formed for each constituency and they will work round the clock in shifts,” Reddy said.
The flying squads also seized Rs13.07 lakh from 15 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad district, while the prohibition & excise department seized 193 liters of liquor. Police officials also issued 62 non-bailable warrants.
