YSRC Organises Overwhelming Road Show and Public Meeting in Ichchapuram
Visakhapatnam: Ruling YSRC organised a road show and held a public meeting in Ichchapuram in Srikakulam as a part of its state-wide “Samajika Sadhikara” bus yatra on Thursday evening.
The response had been overwhelming in the small town, as more than a lakh of people thronged the public meeting.
Revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, education minister Botsa Satyanarayana, social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna and regional coordinator of YSRC Y.V. Subba Reddy were present.
Addressing the public meeting, Dharmana Prasada Rao accused TD national president N. Chandrababu Naidu of betraying north Andhra, particularly Dalits, forcing them to migrate to other states in search of livelihood.
However, rapid developmental activities have taken place after YSRC led by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken over the state, he maintained.
The minister said the CM has laid the foundation stone for Moolapeta Port, which will boost economic activity in the region. Soon, a Rs 700 crore worth water project will be inaugurated to supply safe drinking water to kidney patients of Uddanam area. Further, a kidney hospital and research centre will be opened in Palasa – all of these in Srikakulam district, he stated.
Animal husbandry minister Seedari Appalaraju recalled Chandrababu Naidu’s statement that people feel it is a curse to be born in a Dalit family. He underlined that Jagan Mohan Reddy has extended all kinds of benefits not only to SCs but also STs, BCs and minorities.
Social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna called Chandrababu Naidu a Dalit Drohi while appreciating Jagan Mohan Reddy for making Dalits and minorities walk in society with their heads held high.
Earlier, addressing a press conference in Srikakulam before the launch of bus yatra, Botsa Satyanarayana said they will educate people how TD looted people during its five-year term and what YSRC would do if it is given a term of another five years.
Former deputy chief minister and Narasannapeta MLA Dharmana Krishnadas said no government in the country had extended social benefits to BCs, SCs, STs and minorities like the YSRC has done. Around 700 persons from these communities are directors of various corporations, he pointed out.
