Jagan has undermined BCs, charges Atchannaidu
VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam AP president Kinjarapu Atchannaidu on Saturday accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of cheating BCs by diverting ₹34,000 crore of their sub-plan funds.
Referring to the meeting that AP CM has held with his ministers belonging to BC communities for attracting backward classes towards ruling YSRC, Atchannaidu said in fact, Jagan Mohan Reddy has already deceived BCs by discontinuing about 100 welfare programmes implemented for them during the TD regime.
“CM Jagan has made his ministers issue a statement that special schemes are implemented for BCs. But, in fact, the same schemes are being implemented for other communities too. There is nothing special about them. The Chief Minister is only trying to take backward classes for a ride once again,” Atchannaidu remarked.
He claimed that in the past three-and-a-half years, ₹34,000 crore funds meant for BCs’ welfare have been diverted. Further, the reservation ratio in local bodies for backward classes has been brought down by 10 percent, thus causing the community to lose 16,800 posts, he underlined.
Atchannaidu went on to lament that 8,000 acres of assigned lands belonging to BCs have been illegally occupied. Other schemes like foreign education, wedding gifts and best available schools for backward classes too have been withdrawn.
“What is more shocking is that 26 BC leaders have been killed after Jagan Mohan Reddy has become the Chief Minister,” the TD state president charged. Further, he said false cases have been filed against 650 leaders of backward class communities.
