Assembly poll campaign touches peak level in Nizamabad
Nizamabad: Candidates and parties on Sunday intensified their election campaign across all nine assembly constituencies in undivided Nizamabad district.
The BRS, Congress and BJP candidates approached individual voters, caste organisations and residential associations seeking votes in their favour. The contestants were out from their residences by 8am and ended the day’s campaign by 10pm.
Preparing route maps, they are covering villages, colonies and commercial centres to draw the attention of voters. Three- wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles have been redesigned as election campaign vehicles and pressed them into service. As a result, private vehicle owners are doing brisk business. Polling officials have also engaged private vehicles for the election duties.
National and state-level leaders of the BJP, Congress and BRS covered all nine assembly constituencies so far. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao spoke in various assembly constituencies in both Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts.
Social media, pamphlets, flexi boards and flags were extensively used by candidates and parties to reach out to the voters. BRS and BJP leaders are highlighting their party manifestos while the Congress party is highlighting the six guarantees it gave to the Telangana people.
Interestingly, prominent leaders from bordering Maharashtra and Karnataka states including chief minister Siddaramaiah, deputy CM DK Shiva Kumar, and Maharashtra’s former chief minister Ashok Rao Chavan visited the district and addressed the people.
