Burn BRS govt's effigies, Revanth urges people
Hyderabad: TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy asked the BRS why it had not sought Election Commission permission to extend the pending Dalit Bandhu, BC Bandhu, Minority Bandhu scheme benefits, and had moved the poll panel only for Rythu Bandhu.
Revanth Reddy, speaking at election meetings in Jukkal and Kalwakurthy on Saturday, asked party leaders and cadre to burn the effigies of BRS government across the state on Sunday to protest the silence on the Dalit Bandhu, BC Bandhu and Minority Bandhu schemes.
He appealed to the people to not allow BRS leaders to enter their towns and villages until the government extended all these pending schemes to the beneficiaries, along with Rythu Bandhu.
"The Congress is not against giving Rythu Bandhu to farmers. But we demand that the BRS government extend Dalit Bandhu, BC Bandhu and Minority Bandhu benefits to the beneficiaries also along with Rythu Bandhu," Revanth Reddy said.
He accused the Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao of doing nothing for the development of Mahbubnagar district after getting elected as MP from this seat in 2009.
"When KCR shifted from Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat to Mahbubnagar in 2009 after it became clear that he would lose in Karimnagar, people of Mahbubnagar gave him victory with a hope that his victory would keep the Telangana statehood movement alive. The people of Mahbubnagar not only saved KCR's political future but also the spirit of the statehood movement," the TPCC chief said.
