Siddaramaiah Dares KCR, KTR for Debate on Implementing 5Gs in Karnataka

HYDERABAD: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday dared his Telangana counterpart K. Chandrashekar Rao and minister K.T. Rama Rao to visit Karnataka to know whether the state government was implementing the Five Guarantees (5Gs), or else he is ready for a debate in Hyderabad.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad on Sunday, he said the Raos were unnecessarily levelling allegations against the Karnataka government on the party’s promises.

“I am posing an open challenge to the father and son duo to visit Karnataka and verify documents whether our government in implementing 5Gs – ‘Shakti Yojana’, ‘Anna Bhagya’, ‘Gruha Jyothi’, ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ and ‘Yuva Nidhi’,” he said, adding, “We will also submit evidence to them or else I am ready for a debate with them,” he said.

He said 147 crore women had travelled free in KSRTC buses, 4.37 crore beneficiaries got 10 kg rice in addition to 5 kg rice given by the Centre and Rs 2,000 was transferred into the accounts of 1.14 crore beneficiaries out of 1.17 crore who were enrolled under ‘Gruha Lakshmi’ scheme.

Siddaramaiah said whatever the party had promised in the manifesto was implemented and added that the party would be in power till five years and there was no question of duping the people.

Siddaramaiah said the Congress government in Karnataka had allocated Rs 38,000 crore budget for implementing the 5Gs. As there was no dearth of money, the government was continuing the development activities including those started by the previous BJP government.

He exuded the confidence that the Congress would win Assembly elections in Telangana and implement 6Gs.
