Chandrababu Naidu's unfulfilled promises disappoint Kurnool citizens
Kurnool: With the Deputy Chief Minister openly finding fault with the style of functioning of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the promises made with regard to Kurnool development may just remain on paper, feel leaders of various political parties and residents in the city.
The TD government is promising developmental schemes and projects to Kurnool but the people are disappointed that many of them have not been fulfilled.
Immediately after bifurcation of the state, the Chief Minister made nearly 20 promises, regarding development of the district and to resolve problems of the unemployed, farmers and others.
However, none of these have been fulfilled while more new ones were made during campaigns. Youth, particularly the unemployed, were promised financial assistance and jobs but nothing has been done in this direction. Even admissions into the IIIT have not been taken up yet.
Completion of irrigation projects and establishing new industries have also been confined to statements and laying of foundation stones. There has been no progress in any of the projects.
The CM, who visited Kurnool 11 times after being voted to power, is just making promises during every visit without thinking of giving shape to them.
“The CM made many promises during the first Independence Day celebrations celebrated in the district in 2014, but nothing has been fulfilled so far,” said Varun Somasekar Sharma, Rayalaseema Separatists’ JAC convener.
The slogan “Babu should come to power to give jobs to youth” also did not take shape as the government had not taken any step in this connection, Rapalle Sunkanna, one of the unemployed youths in the city, said.
Even the realtors were also crestfallen due to no significant development in the district, pointed out G. Nagaraju Yadav, a realtor. Many realtors have purchased hundreds of acres near Orvakal and also launched ventures but no plots have been sold till now, he added.
The CM has laid foundation stone to construct a Textile Park in Yemmiganur but did not grant any funds till today.
He also laid foundation stones for construction of a Mega Food Park at Jupadubanglaw mandal, an industrial hub and Urdu University at Orvakal mandal. These projects are being used for publicity by the government but nothing has taken shape so far.
The district collector and other officials visited Orvakal several times and issued statements regarding progress of the projects but there has been no headway till now, said K. Nageswararao, a villager of Orvakal.
People in the district are not happy with the Chief Minister as he is just making promises during his visits to the place but not taking any measures to make them a reality or address their grievances.
