TS Cong. urges public, cadres to join Nagpur rally
Adilabad: Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and D. Sridhar Babu on Monday held a preparatory meeting in Adilabad with the party cadre and second-rung leaders to mobilise crowds for a rally in Nagpur of Maharashtra on December 28, wherein the party will launch its Lok Sabha elections campaign.
Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, TPCC working president Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC secretary Rohit Chowdhury called upon the public and party workers to participate in large numbers to support the Congress’ bid to oust the BJP from the Centre.
Sridhar Babu reiterated that the party was confident of fulfilling all promises made to the people of Telangana by maintaining financial discipline and curtailing waste expenditure. “We will spend each rupee with responsibility and intention that it should reach people. Four crore zero bus tickets were printed to be issued to women travelling in the RTC buses under the free travel scheme,” he said.
Babu said they have implemented two guarantees and the remaining four will be implemented soon, in a phased manner. He accused the BRS of destroying the economic condition of Telangana in the past 10 years and accruing debt of '7 lakh crore. Babu claimed that it was the Congress that constructed the Outer Ring Road and started Hyderabad’s journey to becoming an IT hub.
Prabhakar took the opportunity to attack the BRS, saying their leaders “could not digest” the “expose” of its financial mismanagement, through a White Paper. He said BRS was still trying to cover up its mistakes and trying to misguide people.
