Congress has no chance to return to power in Karnataka: Bommai

Mangaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai accused the opposition parties of being unable to accept the development in the state and resorting to baseless allegations against the government.

Speaking to reporters at Banahatti helipad in Bagalkot on Sunday, Bommai asserted that the people of Karnataka are mature and intelligent enough not to be influenced by such tactics of the opposition.

"The state has entered a new era of progress with the government making every effort to ensure development in key sectors such as irrigation, agriculture, industry, and social welfare. The opposition parties are finding it hard to accept the progress and hence, are resorting to baseless allegations against the government," he said.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the BJP will showcase its achievements to the people and people will appreciate the work done by the government.

Bommai dismissed the ongoing contention between Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah and KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar for the position of Chief Minister as an internal matter of the Congress Party.

He however asserted that the people of Karnataka have already rejected the Congress Party's leaders after seeing their performance while in power during the last term.

"Voters are mindful of the party's past performance. The Congress Party has no chance of returning to power in the state," he claimed.
