Even if Stalin tries with crowbar, he can't bring down our govt: CM
COIMBATORE: Reacting strongly to the comments made by DMK working president M. K. Stalin, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami assured that the ruling AIADMK is so strong that it could not be toppled.
“Even if he (Stalin) tried with crowbar (gadaparai), it is an impossible task to bring down the present government. No one can shake the party as our foundation is strong.” he said. Palaniswami was responding to remarks made by Mr Stalin at the DMK's zonal conference that was organized near Erode.
Addressing reporters in the textile city on Monday, he reiterated the fact that the ruling government's priority is working for the welfare of the people.
Commenting on the Cauvery issue Palaniswami assured that if the Centre failed to constitute the Cauvery Management Board (CMB), the next course of action would be later decided. The Chief Minister was in the textile city to inaugurate India's first Insect Museum at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) on Monday. During his visit he also inaugurated welfare schemes and solemnised a mass marriage.
In order to ensure that the textile city receives its continues supply of water, chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated the Rs 130.46 crore new Integrated water supply scheme (Bhavani basin) drinking water supply project that will benefit nearly two lakh people in 12 villages. On the occasion, Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for Rs.215.51 crore flyover project that will connect Ukkadam- Aathupalam.
Deputy Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam, Ministers SP Velumani, Dindigul Srinivasan, Sengottaiyan, Rajendra Balaji, MPs A.K.selvaraj, Mahendran, Balasubramanian, MLAs Arunkumar, Aarukutti, Amman Arjun, and Chinnaraj also took part in the function.
