ADILABAD: TPCC president Revanth Reddy said on Wednesday that his party’s government would fill up 2 lakh job vacancies in the government sector in a year if it wins power in the upcoming assembly polls.
Revanth was speaking at the ‘Nirudyoga Nirasana Sabha’ in Adilabad town. He demanded that the state government release Rs 1.60 lakh towards the “pending stipend” that had been promised by the ruling party in Telangana for each of the 30 lakh unemployed youths in the state.
Revanth urged the unemployed youths to participate in a public meeting in Sarornagar Grounds in the first week of May, where AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi would be the chief guest.
The Congress chief reiterated that the party could win 90 per cent of the seats in the state if the people of the erstwhile Adilabad elected Congress candidates this time.
He said the educated unemployed youths were aged 25 when they were fighting for the Telangana state. Now they have crossed the age 35 and many of them could not get married as they got no jobs so far.
However, all the family members of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao got plum political jobs as ministers, MLCs and MPs, he said.
He took the names of legendary Adivasi leaders like Komaram Bheem, Ramji Gond, and Konda Laxman who belonged to erstwhile Adilabad and said the people of Adilabad were at the forefront of the fight for their rights with inspiration from the above leaders.
“TS-PSC question papers were being sold in the markets and were made available at every Xerox center in the state,” he said and added that the state government failed to keep the question papers secure.
Revanth Reddy demanded that the state government remove the TSPSC members and its chairman and ensure the exit of IT minister KT Rama Rao from the ministry as he was looking after the same department. An inquiry should be done by a sitting high court judge or by the CBI into the question paper leak, he said.
Revanth Reddy urged MIM leader Asadudin Owaisi to make clear his stand on whether he was with the Congress that gave four percent reservations to Muslims or with the BRS led by KCR that talked about scrapping reservations to Muslims. He said BRS promised the Muslims 12 per cent reservations but did not grant it in nine years.
A section of the Congress cadre and leaders expressed their anger against Revanth Reddy for not mentioning the name of TPCC general secretary Gandrath Sujatha who was sitting beside him when he praised several other leaders.
Congress leaders Shabbir Ali, MLC Jeevan Reddy, Ramchandra Reddy, TPCC state general secretaries Gandrath Sujatha, Vedma Bojju, Vemnarender Reddy, Sathu Mallesh, DCC president Sajid Khan, senior leaders Naresh Jadhav, Ade Gajender and Sanjeev Reddy, Gudipelli Nagesh and others were present.
