KARIMNAGAR: A 14-year-old girl working in the house of a public representative from TRS becoming pregnant has created a stir in Raikal mandal of Jagtial district.
The incident came to light after the report went viral on various social media platforms. When officials of district child welfare and child protection departments visited the house of the girl they did not find anyone in their house.
Having learnt that the girl’s parents had gone to a private hospital to abort the pregnancy, the officials rushed to the hospital and rescued her.
Her house is situated beside the TRS leader’s house, where the girl’s sister used to work. After her sister’s marriage, the tennager, studying in ninth standard, was sent to work at the leader’s house. Locals suspect the involvement of the leader and his driver.
Presently, officials of the child protection department have admitted the girl to a government hospital.
During a police investigation, the girl’s parents informed that the 25-year-old driver at the leader’s house molested their daughter in the name of love.
Her health was bad for the past few days. When she was taken to the hospital, doctors said that she was pregnant, they said. Police registered the case under Pocso Act and started further investigation.
On learning about the incident, MLC K. Kavitha and Jagtial MLA, Dr Sanjay Kumar expressed shock and directed the concerned officials to take immediate action against the person who was responsible.
