Five MLAs feel insecure in YSRC, not criticising Pawan Kalyan
KAKINADA: Some YSRC MLAs are unusually quiet when it comes to combating the political rivals of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Curiously, while Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is continuing with his Varahi Yatra and directly targeting the Chief Minister, five MLAs of Kakinada and Konaseema districts and the YSRC constituency in-charge of Peddapuram Davuluri Dorababu are maintaining a studied silence.
The MLAs are Purnachandra Prasad of Prathipadu, Pendem Dorababu of Pithapuram, Ponnada Satish of Mummidivaram who is also the Konaseema district YSRC president, Kondeti Chittibabu of P Gannavaram and Rapaka Varaprasad of Razole. Varaprasad, who had won on a JS ticket had later switched his loyalty to the YSRC.
According to the YSRC sources, they feel quite insecure about their seats vis-a-vis the coming assembly elections.
Pawan Kalyan started his Varahi Yatra at Annavaram of Prathipadu constituency. Prathipadu MLA Purnachandra Prasad did not criticise or make any comment against PK.
Prasad’s clout in the ruling party is low and he is facing dissidence. Rowthulapudi MPP G. Rajya Lakshmi, Prathipadu ZPTC Behara Rajarajeswari, Eleswaram MPP Gollapalli Narasimha Murthy alias Bujji, Satyanarayana Murthy Devasthanam Trust Board former member Jameel and others are openly criticising the MLA.
Dhana Lakshmi has lodged a complaint with Kakinada collector Kritika Shukla, saying she was being neglected in protocol matters because of the meddling by the MLA.
Recently, former MLA Varupula Subbarao backed the dissident leaders and held a meeting. He warned the MLA that he would not allow Purnachandra Prasad to become an MLA again. The dissidents have also lodged complaints with the chief minister against the MLA.
Pithapuram MLA Pendem Dorababu has also not criticised Pawan Kalyan. He is facing criticism from within the YSRC that he ruined the party in the constituency. Speculations are that the YSRC may give ticket to Kakinada MP Vanga Githa. This is causing insecurity to Dorababu within the YSRC.
The BR Ambedkar Konaseema district YSRC president and Mummidivaram MLA Ponnada Satish remained silent on Pawan Kayan’s tour. He is a close associate of Kakinada MLA Chandrasekhara Reddy.
The P Gannavaram MLA Kondeti Chittibabu is facing embarrassing situations from the people when he participates in the Gadapa-Gadapaku programme.
Pawan Kalyan criticised Varaprasad, TTD chairman Subba Reddy, Jagan Mohan Reddy and Chandrasekhara Reddy. But Varaprasad did not make any comment against Pawan Kalyan. Jana Sena leaders also keep a distance with the MLA.
There were speculations about Transport Minister Pinepe Viswaroop. BC Welfare Minister SV Krishna, Kakinada Rural MLA and ruling party Kakinada district president Kurasala Kannababu, MLA Chandrasekhara, Kakinada MP Vanga Githa and Rajamahendravaram MP Margani lashed out against Pawan Kalyan. But Viswaroop made a sarcastic remark that he wished Pawan Kalyan to be Chief Minister by contesting all the 175 seats or at least 100 seats and winning 50 seats. The YSRC circles could not stomach such remarks.
