HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress leaders, who attended a meeting to chalk out the strategy ahead of the Assembly polls, met with party state in charge Manikrao Thakre in Delhi on Monday.

All political affairs committee members from the state unit were called to Delhi for the meeting. While leaders like MPs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy, former PCC chief V. Hanumantha Rao and former minister Shabbir Ali are in Delhi, others like legislators D. Sridhar Babu and T. Jayaprakash ‘Jagga’ Reddy were likely to reach on Tuesday.

The PAC leaders will discuss the strategy to be adopted for the ensuing elections. Similar meetings of leaders from states going to polls like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh will happen in due course, said PAC member Shabbir Ali.

Speaking after appraising the issues to be discussed, senior Congress leader K. Jana Reddy said, “We are all united in our endeavour to take the party forward and restore the glory days of the past. Differences among us could be for the appointment of a particular person as the DCC president or the other. We have conveyed the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting to the party high command.”
