K taka State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel: No Tolerance for Riot Case Withdrawal
MANGALURU: State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel has warned of strong agitation if the state government considers withdrawing cases related to the DJ Halli and KG Halli riots.
"The Congress government in the state is involved in appeasement and vote bank politics," Nalin alleged in a press statement.
He expressed concern over the potential withdrawal of cases based on the request made by MLA Tanveer Sait.
According to Kateel, Tanveer Sait urged Home Minister Parameshwara to release rowdy elements from the minority community who were arrested for their involvement in the violent assault and burning of a Dalit MLA's house during the riots.
Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Kateel questioned how such cases could be withdrawn, especially given that the BJP government had handed over the investigation of the incident to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Even during the previous tenure of Siddaramaiah's government, he had released the rioters of PFI and SDPI. "It led to the killing of Hindu youths," he added.
