YSRC and TD to Petition CEC Against Bogus Votes Today
Vijayawada: In a strange coincidence both YSRC and Telugu Desam will be lodging complaints against bogus votes (each accuses the other) with the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday. While TD chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu will be leading the party delegation, the ruling party will be represented by many MPs.
The two parties have been trading charges on inclusion of bogus votes, migrated voters and deletion of names of supporters from the voters’ lists. TD has already lodged complaints with the state officials alleging illegal deletion of votes.
Recently following TD’s Uravakonda legislator Payyavula Kesav’s complaint action was taken against two senior officials, Bhaskar Reddy and Shobha Swaroopa Rani, for not following EC guidelines properly.
Now Naidu is set to lodge a complaint with the CEC over irregularities in the revision of the voters’ list in the State, including registration of bogus votes, deletion of names of TD sympathisers and allotment of different polling booths to members of the same family.
Naidu is in Delhi for the release of a commemorative one hundred rupee coin featuring NTR on Monday. After the event, Naidu will meet the CEC and lodge complaints with documents regarding deletion of names of TD supporters.
The TD is of the view that officials are not responding to its complaints as they have succumbed to pressure from YSRC leaders. They alleged that the ruling party leaders were getting information on pro and anti-YSRC voters with the help of village/ward volunteers.
Meanwhile, YSRC has alleged that there were at least 60 lakh bogus and double entry votes and all of them belong to TD.
YSRC general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the YSRC delegation of MPs and MLAs will be led by Rajya Sabha member V. Vijayasai Reddy. They will meet the CEC on Monday and lodge complaints against TD will all records.
Ramakrishna Reddy claimed that the present dispensation has initiated steps to rectify the 60 lakh duplicate or fake voter fraud played by the TD. He said that they had found 30,000 fake votes in Visakhapatnam East assembly constituency and 40,000 bogus votes in Kuppam segment.
