Tummala likely to join Congress at Khammam meet in September
KHAMMAM: Former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao is likely to join the Congress in the first week of September during a public meeting in Khammam after having been denied a ticket from Paleru, following in the footsteps of Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, sources said.
With the news making the rounds, the political situation in Khammam once again took centre stage, as Nageswara Rao’s move will impact political equations in the Assembly constituencies of Khammam, Sattupalli, Kothagudem, and Aswaraopeta, which have a high concentration of the Kamma population.
Sources said that the Congress leadership has held talks and agreed to field Nageswara Rao from Paleru. Also, He is reported to have decided on the move after holding talks with his community members in Suryapet.
Meanwhile, Nageswara Rao’s son Yugandhar said that his father will contest from Paleru and that the people will decide his political future.
