Rain pulls down boundary wall, kills auto driver
HYDERABAD: A 43-year-old autorickshaw driver, Mohammed Maqbool, succumbed to injuries after a portion of boundary wall that was soaked by two days of heavy rain fell on him, Malakpet police said. The incident occurred in front of his house in Wahednagar, Old Malakpet.
Police said Maqbool at about 7.45 am was cleaning the autorickshaw when the corner portion of an old boundary fell on him, Chaderghat sub-inspector Mohammed Parvez Moiuddin said. Police sources said the wall was attached to the main gate and was said to be 15 years old and might have fallen due to heavy rain.
“He suffered injuries on his face and chest, we rushed him to Osmania General Hospital, the duty doctors declared him dead,” Parvez said.
“Maqbool is survived by two sons and a daughter. I visited the scene and consoled Maqbool’s family members and will provide them with financial aid, '' Ahmed bin Abdullah Balala, AIMIM MLA, said.
