Warangal: Congress MLA Dr Seethakka (Danasari Anasuya), AICC women’s wing general secretary, slammed Bhongir Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for canvassing support for his brother and BJP candidate K. Rajgopal Reddy for the November 3 Munugode byelection.
In a statement release here on Tuesday, Dr Seethakka, star campaigner of the Congress for the bypoll, said that even though some of their relatives were in Opposition parties, leaders should be committed to the ideology of the party to which they belong. “Committed political leaders who wish to serve the people will never indulge in covert operations,” she said.
Venkat Reddy campaigning for a BJP candidate was nothing but betraying the party which had given him a political career, Dr Seethakka said.
If he wanted his help his brother, Venkat Reddy must leave the Congress and join the BJP, she said. What was the need for Venkat Reddy to visit Australia at this juncture instead of helping his party, Seethakka asked.
