Hyderabad: National vice-president of BJP D.K. Aruna pooh-poohed media reports indicating that she was switching over to the Congress party. She threatened to file defamation cases against all such media houses.
In a press release here on Thursday, she said, “The BJP has given me recognition and appointed me as the party’s national vice-president. The media has no business to decide my political future and publish articles without even consulting me. Some media persons seem to be writing to benefit the Congress.”
Referring to a vernacular daily, she said, “Attempts are being made to damage my image. I have established myself as a credible leader, who won’t switch parties in pursuit of power and positions.”
