CID refuses to give call data details on Naidu arrest

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Nadu moved a house motion petition in the AP High Court on Thursday, urging the court to expedite hearing on the bail petition in skill development corporation scam case.

Counsel for Naidu appealed to the court that the former CM jailed in Rajahmundry central prison had cataract surgery to his left eye three months ago. He was required to undergo surgery on his right eye at the earliest.

Counsel also urged the court that Naidu required a thorough health check-up based on the reports prepared by the jail authorities and the team of doctors that visited the former CM inside the jail.

Earlier, the AP High Court hearing the interim bail petition of Naidu transferred the petition to the vacation bench because of the Dasara holidays. However, no specific date was allocated for the hearing.

Meanwhile, the bail/interim bail petitions of Naidu in the skill development corporation scam case were scheduled to be heard by Justice Venkata Jyothirmai of the High Court on October 27, as case number eight.

In another case in the ACB court, the CID on Thursday refused to share the details of the call data of the investigating officers probing the skill development scam case filed against Naidu.

In a counter-affidavit filed in the ACB court, Vijayawada, to the petition filed by Naidu’s lawyers, the CID said it was not possible to share the call data records of the officials at the time of arrest of Naidu in Nandyal on September 9.

The ACB court, which heard the arguments of Naidu’s counsel and of the CID, which submitted its counter, deferred the further hearing to Friday.
