Health issues pile up on jailed Naidu

Kakinada: Telugu Desam leaders are compiling details of various health issues that former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is facing in the Rajahmundry Central Jail so that these could be used as grounds for securing bail for him from courts.

The TD chief has been facing skin infections. To overcome them, the jail authorities have provided the former CM with an air conditioner in jail, as per instructions of the court.

In addition, Chandrababu Naidu is suffering from lower back pain. He has fissures, which are posing difficulty for him in passing motions.

The former chief minister has already undergone a cataract operation for one eye. Surgery is pending for the other eye.

When contacted, jail superintendent Rahul told Deccan Chronicle that frequent medical checks are being conducted on Naidu. Reports of these checks are being sent to higher officials and Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari.

However, Telugu Desam leaders are accusing jail authorities of suppressing facts about the health of Chandrababu Naidu.

Telugu Desam leader and Rajamahendravaram Urban MLA Adireddy Bhavani’s husband Adireddy Srinivas told Deccan Chronicle that party cadres are worried about the health of the TD chief in prison. They will bring his health issues to the attention of the High Court.

TD leaders said Naidu has to undergo proctoscopy, and blood renal, and liver tests, apart from other procedures.
