KTR announces new ration cards from Jan. 2024
Hyderabad: BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday announced that the new ration cards would be issued to people from January 2024 if the BRS was voted into power. It was in 2021 that the government last issued ration cards.
Thousands of people have submitted representations to the Civil Supplies Department requesting sanction cards.
At a road show in Choppadandi in Karimnagar, Rao said that the government would supply super fine rice to existing ration card holders.
At a separate road show in Sircilla, Rama Rao said that the BRS would introduce a ‘Bima (insurance)’ policy for people from Telangana working in the Gulf if re-elected.
He said the policy to extend Rs 5 lakh life insurance coverage to each individual, would be similar to Rythu Bima for farmers. Various programmes would be included in the comprehensive Gulf policy.
The policy would also be applicable to those who went to Gulf countries in search of livelihood. The ruling party has already introduced several schemes for the welfare of various communities, he said.
