Belagavi: A day after senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa addressed a mega rally of Sangolli Rayanna Brigade (SRB) at Kudal Sangam, CM Siddaramaiah took umbrage to the manner in which BJP leaders are resorting to politics in the name of the commander of Kittur Rani Chennamma’s army.
He told the media here on Friday that an entity formed and named after Sangolli Rayanna was for political gains and therefore unfair. “Eshwarappa who launched the brigade in Rayanna's name claims to make B S Yeddyurappa CM through his brigade. What we should know is Rayanna fought the British as the commander of Chennamma’s army. It is unfair to resort to politics in the name of a patriotic like Rayanna.”
