Chiefs of BJP Southern States to Meet in City on July 8: Bandi
Hyderabad: BJP state president Bandi Sanjay on Wednesday said that people in Maharashtra were ridiculing Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s ‘Abki baar kisan sarkar’ slogan. “His original slogan is ‘Abki baar aabkari (liquor) sarkar’,” he said, adding that Chandrashekar Rao was trying to destabilise other political parties using money power.
Sanjay Kumar welcomed 650 vistharaks from across the state at Secunderabad railway station on Wednesday. They participated in the ‘Mera booths sabse majbooth’ programme addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bhopal, he said.
Earlier, Sanjay Kumar offered floral tributes to former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao on his 102nd birth anniversary at PV Ghat on Necklace road.
Speaking to reporters, Sanjay said, “We don’t bother about vicious campaigns taken up by BRS leaders”, he said.
Reacting to life threats to his MLA Etala Rajendar, Sanjay said that the police should investigate the case and arrest those who conspired to kill the legislator. Earlier, police fabricated false cases against BJP leaders and arrested them, he alleged. At least now, the police top brass should prove sincerity by arresting those behind the life threats to Rajendar, he said.
Meanwhile, a meeting of BJP presidents of southern state units and other key leaders will be held in Hyderabad on July 8, he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Telangana state in July, although the dates are not finalised yet, he said. Senior party leaders N.V.S.S. Prabhakar, Chinthala Ramachandra Reddy, Kasam Venkateshwarlu and Podduturi Vinay Kumar Reddy were present.
