WARANGAL: BJP official spokesperson A. Rakesh Reddy on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to send helicopters to rescue students staying at hostels in Naimnagar and Kishanpura, which are flooded due to heavy rains that lashed Hanamkonda district.
In a tweet, he urged Modi to instruct the state government to provide food and water to students and if possible to evacuate them through helicopters. He tagged the tweet to BJP state chief Kishan Reddy, Union minister Amit Shah, Telangana CMO and municipal administration urban development minister K.T. Rama Rao.
After learning about students trapped in the hostels for 30 hours, Rakesh Reddy along with his team reached the flooded hostels late night on Thursday and provided food and water packets to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Reddy said that several colonies in tri-cities of Hanamkonda, Warangal and Kazipet were badly affected with the heavy rains and disturbed the normal life of residents living in the flood affected colonies.
When people are facing severe hardships, he alleged neither the ruling BRS party leaders nor the officials are least bothered to save the lives of the people.
He said the BJP will find a permanent solution to floods and to save people.
