YSR Congress demands white paper on Krishna Pushkaralu
Amaravati: YSR Congress demanded release of a white paper by the Telugu Desam-led state government about the expenditure of the Krishna Pushkaralu.
YSRC state secretary, L. Appi Reddy alleged that the government gave all works on nomination system which benefited TD leaders who turned as contractors during Krishna Pushkaralu. Alleging illegalities in the Krishna Pushkaralu and wastage of public money to the tune of Rs 2,500 crore, he demanded that the state government release a white paper with all details.
Addressing a press meet at Guntur on Saturday, Mr Appi Reddy alleged that the ghats were of very poor quality as tiles and steps were damaged during the Pushkaralu time itself.
He said that the government is stating about that two crore people taking holy dip in the Krishna river which indicates an expenditure of Rs 1,000 per head according to the total Krishna Pushkaralu expenditure of Rs 2,500 crore.
He claimed that NGOs and social service organisations sponsored food and other facilities to the pilgrims. So, lot of ano-malies occurred in the spending of Pushkaralu funds.
He alleged that only TD leaders and TD sympathising contractors benefited with the Pushka-ralu illegal nomination works and demanded that the government release a white paper on Krishna Pushkaralu expenditure.
