SC/ST oath gamechanger: Revanth
HYDERABAD: The Chevella Declaration was created with a single motivation and sole guiding principle of bringing light into the lives of Dalits and tribals by bringing qualitative change to their lives, said TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy.
Addressing activists who joined the party from the Nagarkurnool and Acchampeta Assembly constituencies, he said, “The people of Palamuru should set aside their differences and work for the victory of the party. We can usher in ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ by winning all the 14 seats in the district. If local leaders ensure that in the district, Congress leaders will take the onus of bagging 100 seats at the overall state level. Expose the failures of the BRS in front of people and take them to every doorstep with the slogan ‘Tiragabadadam…Tarimikodadam’.
“We will complete all irrigation projects in Palamuru district after we come to power. Those who are old, widows, disabled, beedi workers, single women, toddy tappers, handloom workers, AIDS victims, filaria and dialysis patients will be given Rs 4,000 pension per month. Farmers will get loans up to Rs 2 lakh waived. We will fill all two lakh jobs which are currently vacant and supply subsidised gas cylinders at Rs 500,” he said.
The party has promised to increase the medical insurance to Rs 5 lakh under Aarogyasri and give Rs 5 lakh for the construction of houses.
Recounting the unkept promises of the BRS government, Revanth took to Twitter (now X) and rebutted minister K.T. Rama Rao by tagging him and saying, “The declaration is not to cheat Dalits in the name of making a Dalit CM, providing Dalits three acres land, tribals in name of increasing their reservation to 12 per cent, it is not for insulting tribal farmers by handcuffing them like bandits for seeking support price for their produce and not to apply third degree on Dalits and BCs in Nerella for questioning illegal sand mining (sic).”
Dwelling into the injustice meted out to various sections, Revanth Reddy further said, “We are not grabbing lands of Dalits and tribals given during the Congress regime and selling them to real estate mafia, it’s not to condone lock up deaths of woman like Mariamma, it’s not to give three ministerial berths to one family and not allocating a single one to Madigas, nor to cheat them in the name of ABCD classification and to deprive dalits of Dalit Bandhu by taking 30 per cent cut (sic).”
