YSRC leaders, who criticise NTR, will have no history: Chikkala
KAKINADA: Telugu Desam senior leader and MLC Chikkala Ramachandra Rao lashed out at YSRC leaders, in particular Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and R&B minister Dadisetty Ramalingeswara Rao, for their comments against TD founder late N.T. Rama Rao.
Dadisetty Raja had on Monday described NTR as an inefficient chief minister in the country. A loyalist of NTR, Chikkala told reporters here on Tuesday that all those who criticise leaders like NTR will lose their identity in history.
“If you criticize NTR without knowing his history, you will have no history,” he remarked. He pointed out that NTR became chief minister three times and was adored as God by Telugu people. Further, he became chief minister within nine months of floating Telugu Desam. He formed a nationwide alliance with all opposition parties and as its chairman fought against Congress party. NTR introduced the ₹2-a-kg rice scheme for poor, ₹50 per HP subsidised power for farmers, housing for poor and equal property rights to women and various other popular schemes.
The senior leader said minister Raja exhibited his ignorance by commenting against NTR. He underlined that it has been 24 years since health university had been named after NTR. No chief ministers in the past changed the name of this institute. He observed that there are 55 schemes in the name of late CM Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and 20 in name of Jagan. Yet, these have not quenched their thirst for changing names, he remarked.
