BRS nominees face non-cooperation from MLAs who were denied tickets
ADILABAD: A few BRS nominees in the Adilabad district have been facing non-cooperation from the party leaders and MLAs who were denied tickets for the upcoming Assembly elections. The dissenters in the ruling party are now planning to join other parties.
Anil Jadhav, who was declared as the party candidate from the Boath segment, is not getting support from MLA Rathod Bapurao and the same is the case with party nominee Bhukya Johnson Naik with MLA Rekha Naik, who was denied a ticket.
As both Rekha Naik and Rathod Bapurao were lobbying for Congress tickets from their respective constituencies, the BRS high command was now worried about the upset MLAs, who were planning to jump the ship.
Rekha Naik had made it clear that she was ready to contest as a rebel if she did not get the BRS ticket.
The ruling party is also apprehensive that the votes might get split between its candidates and the rebels, which will affect their winnability.
After being denied tickets, the senior BRS leaders of Khanapur and Boath have been maintaining silence and away from party programmes.
Adilabad ZP chairman Janardhan Rathod, a ticket aspirant, was also not extending his support to BRS nominee Bhukya Johnson Naik.
Internal differences between Boath MPP Thula Srinivas and party candidate Anil Jadhav also came to the fore after the former allegedly said that there might be last-minute changes in the party nominations in Boath.
A disappointed Srinivas was supporting former Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh’s candidature against MLA Rathod Bapurao.
In the wake of the rift between Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna and Rathod Bapurao after Ramanna reportedly made comments at a programme that Anil Jadhav had the calibre to become the MLA much before the party announced candidates.
Ramanna mediated between Anil Jadhav and Srinivas to settle the differences in the interest of the party.
