Congress Aiming for Truce Between Multiple Ticket Aspirants Before Candidate List Out
HYDERABAD: The Congress leadership is out to pacify ticket aspirants prior to announcing the candidates. The effort is to check rebellion and dissent among those who do not get a nomination and secure their continuing support ahead of the elections.
It has laid special focus on 52 Assembly seats each of which has over a dozen aspirants.
The party high command has formed teams with senior leaders to stay in touch with those who will be denied tickets.
Party sources said that the high command has instructed AICC Telangana affairs incharge Manikrao Thakre to remain focussed on the job.
Following this, Thakre has been camping in Hyderabad and holding meetings with senior leaders, instructing them to reach out to the aspirants, hold negotiations, assure them of nominated posts in the party as well as in the government if the Congress wins.
These seniors include TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MPs N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
The party high command is planning to release the list of candidates in the first or second week of October.
The party leadership is taking special care after the incident of Maheshwaram Congress leader Kotha Manohar Reddy accusing Revanth Reddy of selling tickets. Manohar Reddy is an from Maheshwaram where there is tough competition from multiple aspirants.
