BJP, Congress heavyweights to descend on MP, Chhattisgarh

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming on a three-day visit to Madhya Pradesh on Saturday

Bhopal: Heavyweights of BJP and Congress are all set to descend on the poll-bound states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in the coming days to give a boost to the campaigning by their respective parties for the November assembly polls.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming on a three-day visit to Madhya Pradesh on Saturday to hold meetings of local workers and leaders of the BJP at several places in the state, a spokesman of the party said here on Friday.

He is scheduled to land in Jabalpur on Saturday and address a meeting of local party workers and leaders in the city.

He would then leave for Junnardev in Chhindwara district where he would address a public meeting.

He is scheduled to return to Bhopal in the evening to address a meeting of party workers of Bhopal and Narmadapuram.

He would leave for Khajuraho on Sunday where he would address the local party workers and leaders.

He is scheduled to address the local party workers in Rewa, Ujjain and Indore over two days, before leaving for Delhi on Monday.

Meanwhile, AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is coming on a day’s visit to the state on Saturday to address election meetings at Damoh and Chhatarpur.

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is also coming on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh to address public meetings in the assembly constituencies which are scheduled to go to the assembly elections in the first phase on November seven.

He is scheduled to address public meetings at Kondagaon, Farasgaon, Kanker and Bhanupratappur in Bastar on Saturday.

He is scheduled to address public meetings in Rajnandgaon and Kawardha on Sunday before winding up his visit to the state.
