Nadda Again Vows to Make BC Leader CM in Telangana

ADILABAD: BJP national chief J.P. Nadda on Monday appealed to the electorate to “sink the BRS” on November 30 “like the pillars of Kaleshwaram that sunk due to corruption”, as he likened the ruling party with the Congress, calling them two sides of the same coin.

Reiterating during election meetings that the BJP, if voted to power, would make a BC leader the Chief Minister, Nadda ramped up his attack on the BRS.

Nadda described both BRS and Congress as ‘Brastachar (corrupt)’ and ‘Parivarwadi (family-run)’ parties, charging the Congress of being involved in various scams, including coal, Commonwealth Games, Agusta Helicopter and 2G, and the BRS of being involved in land, sand and liquor scams.

Nadda appealed to the people to vote for Aruna Tara, Dr Boga Shravani and Aravind, the party’s candidates, in the elections. Nadda said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country achieved a lot and moved forward on various fronts in the world.

Addressing a road show in Jagtial and public meetings in Bodhan, Banswada and Jukkal on the day, he termed the BRS “Brastachar Rakshashula Samithi”, and said that the BJP was the only party working to empower SCs, STs and OBCs.

“A Rs 35,000-crore project increased to Rs 1.20 lakh-crore project in the name of redesign and it has become an ‘adda’ of corruption and BRS is using it as ATM,” Nadda said, referencing the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme.

Adding the Dharani portal to his list of BRS scams, he claimed the ruling party snatched lakhs of acres from the poor by defrauding them.

Nadda questioned the BRS on the unfulfilled promise of 2BHK houses, seeking to know where the funds allotted under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by the Centre were spent.

He described the Congress as an ‘appeasing party’, for giving four per cent reservations to Muslims in the state.
