Governor launches Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: In an initiative led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh state Governor Abdul Nazeer inaugurated the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Visakhapatnam on Thursday. The initiative aims to propel India into the league of developed nations by 2047.

During a meeting held at the AU Convention hall, the Governor explained the objectives and goals of various schemes designed and implemented by the Central government. The main objective of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to ensure financial benefits reach every deserving Indian while eliminating the need for individuals to navigate government offices for welfare and financial support, he stated.

Nazeer urged the 140 crore Indians to take planned steps over the next 25 years to achieve the development goals. He also highlighted the establishment of help centers as part of the Yatra, which will assist those eligible for welfare and financial benefits.

The Governor emphasised the significance of schemes like Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, PM Poshan Abhiyan, and others in fostering welfare and economic benefits.

GVMC commissioner C.M. Sai Kanth Varma revealed the substantial progress made in Visakhapatnam through Central government schemes. Over 24,000 individuals have benefited from the PM Awas Yojana and received financial support of Rs 311.46 crore. Additionally, one-cent houses were sanctioned for 1.18 lakh people, demonstrating a commitment to affordable housing.

Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari expressed gratitude for the Central government's initiatives in Andhra Pradesh. He called for active participation in the Yatra and highlighted Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sincere commitment to the state’s development.
